Barletta

Barletta is a place where you can experience the true rhythm of southern Italy – quieter, more authentic, and different from the most crowded resorts of Puglia. It has an everyday feel that is often missing in typical tourist destinations.

Mornings here begin with an espresso and a sweet snack at the bar with the locals. Moments later, the streets come alive, small shops open, and the seaside promenade fills with sunbathers. It's worth noting that Barletta's beaches are among the most beautiful and best in the region. They are sandy, long, and in high season, filled with sunbeds, umbrellas, and beach bars.

It's also an excellent base for exploring Puglia without a car. Regional trains allow for convenient access to Bari, Polignano a Mare, Monopoli, Alberobello, Matera, and other Puglia gems, and a trip along the Adriatic Sea can be an experience in itself. In the evenings, after an afternoon siesta, the city comes alive again. The streets of the old town gradually fill with people heading out for dinner to the numerous pubs and bars in Barletta. Here, you can sample delicious local cuisine and regional wines.

Although Barletta remains less well-known than the region's most popular towns, it retains its natural character thanks to this. Not everything here is designed for tourists, and this makes your stay a true Puglia experience.

If you dream of a place where you can slow down, experience the spirit of Southern Italy and explore the region more like a local than a tourist, Barletta could prove to be one of the biggest surprises of your entire trip through the region.
